The Nike Mind 001 Mules are Nike's first-ever neuroscience-based recovery and pregame footwear, designed to help athletes feel calmer, more focused, and more connected to the present moment before and after training or competition. Unlike traditional slides, the Mind 001 combines innovative sensory technology with minimalist comfort, creating a completely new category of performance footwear centered on the connection between the mind and body.

The design is inspired by the science of the mind-body connection. Developed by Nike's Mind Science Department after more than a decade of research, the Mind 001 features 22 independently articulated foam nodes beneath the foot that stimulate sensory receptors as you walk. This unique system is designed to increase body awareness, reduce distractions, and help athletes achieve a greater sense of focus, balance, and mental readiness. Every aspect of the mule—from its lightweight construction to its ergonomic slip-on design—was engineered to support recovery, mindfulness, and everyday comfort.

The Nike Mind 001 was officially unveiled in October 2025 and made its retail debut in January 2026, marking the launch of Nike's groundbreaking Nike Mind platform. As the first footwear developed from the brand's Mind Science initiative, it represents a bold step beyond traditional performance footwear, introducing a new approach that combines neuroscience, sensory stimulation, and innovative design to help athletes prepare, recover, and perform at their best.
